Take It Off: Removing Makeup Naturally

Posted by Jenny Tellier on

It's the end of the day, you're tired and that one last step of removing your makeup seems like it can wait till the morning. Sound familiar?

We love a good sleep with the day's makeup lingering on our face, hey, we've all been there. Here's some encouragement to ease yourself out of this skin-sabotaging habit and into a cleansing routine that effortlessly removes your makeup.

When you go to bed with a full face of makeup, here's what happens:

  • your pores get clogged and for some that could mean a breakout or breakouts
  • your skin can't naturally shed and renew itself during the night as it's trapped under makeup, so you may wake up with dull, dry skin, that's not cute, let's stay cute
  • you miss the best time for your skincare products to soak into your skin - your nighttime routine will miss you
  • if your makeup contains common irritants, keeping these ingredients on your skin any longer than they need to be could cause inflammation, irritation and redness

Ready to commit to clean, sleep-worthy skin? Reach for Wildcraft's Cleanse Makeup Remover

The Cleanse Makeup Remover is formulated with dual-suspension ingredients, meaning it's both a cleansing tonic and an oil blend. The avocado oil, organic calendula-infused sunflower oil, castor oil, organic jojoba oil and rosehip seed oil will work to dissolve your makeup while the organic calendula, chamomile and rose-infused witch hazel and aloe vera juice wipe away your makeup without a wash.

You can skip the sink and jump into bed knowing the anti-inflammatory ingredients are nourishing your skin (and your brows and lashes) while you sleep.

To use, give the bottle a shake and dampen a reusable cotton round. Wipe over your face until your makeup is removed. For a deeper clean, follow with Wash Oil Cleanser or Wash Cream Cleanser

HH tip: gently swipe on recently waxed or shaved skin (think underarms and bikini line) to reduce irritation and keep the skin hydrated.
